Fun of sailing

Windy or calm, rain or shine—if there’s wind, we’re sailing! Same river, but never the same twice. The wind keeps us guessing with new speeds and angles every time. #SailingLife #RiverAdventures

Keira's Lightning Capsize

The Safety boat was a few feet away, whilst Keira had a few attempts at righting the boat.

Dry Capsize

Going for a Dry Capsize. The lightning went over, but Keira carefully managed to climb over and skillfully climbed over the top, only getting her feet wet and then hauled the boat over and stepped back into the cockpit. However, too much momentum caused the boat to capsize and put her into the water.

Safety Boat Duty

This weekend, it is the turn of my Team to operate Race Control, my eldest son will be OOD setting the course. Paul and I will be operating the first Safety Boat and I will have another Team ready in the second safety boat. Now that it is organised, I'll work out what the weather will be like and the race course.

Capsize Practice

Capsize practice. The best time to practice capsizing the boat is in the summer when the water is not too cold and you can try different techniques to find the best way of righting the boat and getting everyone back onboard, with a safety boat nearby.
